dc.description.abstract Presents guidelines for the creation of a culture within the business whereby management and employers acquire "ownership" of the business, within the context of entrepreneurship. Secondary aims of this study are to focus on the broader organisational framework within which an entrepreneurial strategy and culture can develop and on the manner in which entrepreneurship can be established as a culture within the organisation; and to identify and describe certain elements of the culture of an organisation and from these to create a framework within which positive contributions to a culture of entrepreneurship can be promoted. Because the employees in a business are subordinate to the management, there is a need to create a new paradigm within the framework of the organisation whereby a partnership of collective entrepreneurship is formed. This will allow the employees to develop into independent entrepreneurs and will also lead to the development of an entrepreneurial culture. It is concluded that the formation of an entrepreneurial culture will lead to a situation where entrepreneurs will be recognised and rewarded for their creativity and innovation. It is recommended that to establish an entrepreneurial culture in the small business, recognition must be given to the supporting role that the employees offer the organisation. en
