dc.description.abstract The environment in which the church and its organisations function is turbulent, and high expectations are placed on the organisation and its management. An important factor in strategic management is the ability to timeously identify and exploit possibilities in the market sector. There are many possibilities when strategic principles are applied. By using a questionnaire, it has been established that management is not familiar with the principles of strategic management and that these principles are not completely implemented. It has been established that the lack of involvement is the greatest problem encountered by the organisation. It is recommended that the management train the members in the planning and implementation of these principles within the various branches of the organisation. Once strategic management principles are implemented, the beneficial gain can virtually be insured. en
