dc.description.abstract The problems and subjective experiences that characterise the handicapped/disabled person's experience of working in the open labour market, can be determined by measuring the quality of worklife. The following quality of worklife dimensions were used in this study by way of a combined questionnaire in order to measure quality of worklife: Work experience; Work alienation; Meaninglessness; Normlessness; Instrumental work orientation; Self-evaluative involvement; Organisational commitment; Identification with the job; Job involvement; Job-induced tension; Somatic tension; and General fatigue and uneasiness The results were processed by means of multiple regression, and indicate that the problems and subjective experiences of the handicapped/disabled person are not influenced by one specific dimension only, but rather by a combination of dimensions. Although other factors play a role, it was found that work experience, organisational commitment and job-induced tension have the greatest effect on the problems and subjective experiences of the handicapped/disabled person in the open labour market. en
