dc.description.abstract The aim of this study was to launch an investigation into existing programs for the improvement of self-image and then to write a useful program and guidelines for the improvement of self-image. An empirical study was done in which learners were exposed to the self-image program in a classroom situation. AH learners' self-images were tested both before and after the program. The program, which was developed for use by the educational psychologist, was completed by eight learners. Each of the learners' self-images was tested by means of the adolescent self-image scale before and after the program. There was an improvement of self-image in both instances. Guidelines have also been included for the educational psychologist, the teacher and the parents. en
