dc.description.abstract The aim of this thesis was to give a critical appraisal of the individualistic notion of grace prevalent in the modern western pentecostal movement. The critique was built on two arguments: Argues that a supra-individualistic picture of the holy spirit emerges from a close scrutiny of the original texts in both the old and new testaments. Argues that a systematic theological profile of the modern Pentecostal Movement shows strong individualistic features. In an independend and original way, the candidate argues that the spirit should be understood not only in relation to personal holiness, but especially in relation to ecclesiology and the cosmos. Opens exciting possibilities for the christian church to provide a moral framework for socio-political and ecological questions from a pneum-tological perspective. en
