dc.description.abstract The findings of a purposive sampling method conducted by the author suggest that most respondents bought PABXs for versatility and flexibility rather than for the benefits of management control (trunk-barring facilities); that companies in the financial fields require extensive education regarding the advantages of PABX; that dissatisfaction with Post Office maintenance "is not rife"; that Philips have the happiest customers; and that the perceived quality of equipment is very important. He lamely concludes that there is a need for more market research into the industry. en
