dc.description.abstract The client/server environment is one of the most popular trends in application development today. End-users are now making their own decisions about selection of hardware, software tools, implementation strategies and maintenance procedures. This has left a vacuum where formerly one would have found traditional EDP audit controls. The challenge is to reasses these control procedures in light of the strengths and weaknesses of the new technology and to make suitable recommendations regarding the implementation of controls. en
