dc.description.abstract The problem of the boundaries in this northern Natal area, the magisterial district of Ingwavuma, has been analysed and investigated according to political-geographical principles and theories with the aim of establishing possible answers to the anticipated conflict situation which is developing in this area. The results of the investigation are the following: The international boundary separating northern Natal from Mozambique and Swaziland serves as a divider of traditionally united tribes; The dissatisfaction thus felt by the local inhabitants is being exploited by various organisations; The main purpose of this exploitation is to further the revolutionary aims of the ANC and the PAC. The following recommendations for solving the problem are: The establishment of a counter-mobilisation organisation; The development of a national aim for the peoples of Ingwavuma; the creation of a positive image and disposition towards the SANDF and the Government amongst the local population. en
