dc.description.abstract Attempts to determine the psychometric validity of a buddyrating system. Buddyrating is used in various evaluation applications in the SADF. The method of research is to determine the difference between objective measured personality traits and ratings obtained from buddyrating. This correlation could then present the validity that exists between the concerned buddyrating factor and the standardised scale. The hypothesis states that a positive correlation exists between the buddyrating factor and the standardised scales. The research group consisted of A South African Air Force College leader group. A comparison between the results of the buddyrating factors and the standardised scales indicates that the set hypothesis is invalid. The buddyrating can thus be considered as an invalid instrument of leadership measurement. en
