dc.description.abstract The purpose of the dissertation was to investigate the Volkskas manager at work to determine whether such executives adhere to normative principles in the workplace or whether they follow the trends of dechristianisation, Godlessness/secularism and/or fragmentation at work. The trend of dechristianisation refers to the tendency where Christ/Christianity/religion is considered of decreasing importance. The trend of godlessness/secularism refers to the condition where Christ/Christianity/religion is separated from the worldly/work/secular, and each of these segments is awarded an own set of norms and values. The trend of fragmentation related to the condition where the whole life is divided into fragments - a fragment each for church, work, family, Christianity, friends and politics - and each of these fragments is likewise awarded an own, different set of norms and values. As a result of these trends a person cannot function as a holistic human being, due to the continual changing from one set of principles to another. It was concluded that a Christian manager is a manager who applies normative, ethical and Christian values in the workplace and therefore is a moral manager who follows moral business practices. When the normative, ethical and Christian values are not applied in the workplace, immoral and amoral managers and business practices result. An empirical study was then done in Volkskas Bank Limited. As this is a classified dissertation, the results of this study are omitted. en
